ESSEX
As at 5th December
With just a few months until the start of the new cricket season, last week the eagerly awaited fixtures were released.
Essex will start the season with a 3 day first-
The county start their Championship campaign against Gloucestershire at Chelmsford on the 5th April. Two weeks later they travel up to Headingley Carnegie to face Yorkshire with the match starting on the 19th.
The brand new Chelmsford Festival Week will see Leicestershire visit the County ground for a Championship match starting on the 1st August, immediately followed by a one day CB40 match against the same opposition.
The ever popular Colchester Cricket Festival will commence on Wednesday 15th August with a four day championship match against Glamorgan. On Sunday the 19th Netherlands will be the visitors for a CB40 match.
This seasons FL t20 will consist of 10 matches, including 5 home matches. Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Middlesex will be the visitors to the County ground, will all matches being floodlit games.

ESSEX NEWS
36 year old Charl Willoughby has joined Essex on a two year contract. In the 2011 season Willoughby formerly of Somerset, played 15 matches taking 47 wickets at an average of 34.65.

Graham Gooch is stepping down as Essex First Team batting coach as of the 2012 season.
Graham will continue his role with England as a full-
Matt Walker will become assistant to Head coach Paul Grayson. Matt will continue to be registered as a player for the club.
