With just two more matches to play Essex will be looking to win both games Warwickshire away and Durham at home to try and preserve their first division status.

Essex's miserable Colchester festival continued with a 85 run defeat against Derbyshire. Essex made 168 with Grant Flower top scoring with 53 in reply to the visitors 253 for 5.
Better luck on Monday as Essex beat Glocestershire at Bristol by 6 Wickets, Ravi Bora and Grant Flower both hitting 45.
Surrey were up against the Unicorns at the delightful Wormsley ground. Surrey winning by 66 runs, thanks to a century from Steve Davies and Steve Cheetham taking 4 for 32.
Middlesex were in action against Yorkshire at Scarborough, in a game that the home side shaded by just 5 runs. Middlesex chasing 251 for victory fell 6 short despite a fine 77 from Scott Newman. Middesex suffered a second defeat in the space of a couple of days with a 81 run defeat on the D/L method to Derbyshire.
